Is there really a need for another blog about cooking?

I finally decided to create this site after being asked by so many people to write a cookbook. Truth is, I don’t know that the world needs another cookbook, though, God knows, I love to collect them. Funnily, I have a lot of cookbooks, but only really crack open a couple of them. Most of the time I do the thing that I thought I’d write about — I cook on the fly, by the seat of my pants, using odds and ends mixed together with standard ingredients to make a meal.

So, you will find recipes here and my tips and ideas about food, but you will also find thoughts about how we are all connected to each other through food, how it affects our lives in ways that are both obvious and subtle, and maybe just about how that time your stupid little brother put hot sauce in the ketchup changed your world forever. My true goal is that each post will be a little random adventure, unexpected perhaps, but not entirely unpleasant.

Oh, and I’m a vegetarian — but don’t let that discourage you. I’m not a preacher, just someone who likes to eat. If you like comfort food, and easy recipes, and things you can make in one pot so there’s not too much clean-up, then this is the place for you.
